This is a particularly beautiful region with a fascinating history and Granes is ideally placed for exploring the glorious countryside with lakes, rivers, and mountain streams and Cathar Castles.
The atmospheric hilltop village of Rennes-le-Château (10 mins drive) with its historical secrets.
Medieval towns and cities including the magnificent Cite of Carcassone and Mirepoix (which hosts a splendid market on Mondays) are all a short drive away.

Hidden within all this promise is the birth place of many of today’s mysteries including those alluded to in the book ‘The Da Vinci Code.’
The lesser known Ariege and Aude departments, legend has it, hide the Cathar treasure, whether real or spiritual, and the secrets surrounding the Merovinginian bloodline, purportedly Jesus of Nazareth’s true lineage.

For your b & b accommodation the house is situated in the centre of the village of Granes approximately 5 kms from Quillan and 10 kms from Couiza and was built at the turn of the nineteenth century.
It was originally a small fermette with shelters for animals and now offers the charm and simplicity of an old French house whilst also having the advantage of 21st century plumbing and central heating.

We currently offer:
1 large double bedroom with dressing area and bathroom
1 Family room with double bed and ensuite shower room, mezzanine floor with twin beds.
1 twin room with en suite shower room .

On the ground floor there is a lounge,dining room and large kitchen. There is also a ‘summer dining room' which is used for serving dinner on warm summer evenings.

We also have several cottages for rent, so whether you want to stay in a lively village close to bars,restaurants and shops or yearn for peace,quiet and fantastic scenery we can accommodate you. Our cottages can accommodate from 2 and up to 10 people, and are situated at Rouvenac, St.Louis, Ginoles, and Montazels all within easy distance of Carcassonne and Perpignan airports
